Working principle:

The damping time (in seconds) of the amplitude attenuation of the swing rod on the paint film is used to express the hardness of the paint film. It is based on the principle that when the swing rod contacting the surface of the paint film swings with a certain period, the softer the surface, the faster the amplitude attenuation, and the slower the reverse. It is worth noting that there is no conversion relationship between the test results of Konig and Persoz swing rods with different structure, mass, size and period, because the interaction between the swing rod and the coating also depends on the complex elasticity and viscosity of the coating. Therefore, the damping time of a certain paint film is determined in the product standard, and only one swing rod is specified.
